Research

Research in the Surgical Neurology Branch is focused on advancing fundamental knowledge of the human brain in both health and disease. Research programs are focused on developing novel therapeutic strategies for addressing neurosurgical and neurological disorders, and on studying both normal brain function and the development of disease through the opportunities that emerge when providing routine standard care for neurosurgical patients. Research programs are led by Investigators and Staff from the Branch that work both collaboratively and independently to advance the mission of the Surgical Neurology Branch and of NINDS.
