Joan Ohayon, MSN, CRNP, MSCN

Joan Ohayon is a certified multiple sclerosis nurse practitioner working in Neuroimmunology at the National Institutes of Health since 1993. Ohayon received her BSN from James Madison University and her MSN from Marymount Univeristy. Ohayon is an associate investigator on multiple research studies focusing on multiple sclerosis, HTLV-1 associated myelopathy, PML and other neuroimmunological diseases. She is an active volunteer for the National MS Society, serving on their Board of Trustees, the National Medical Advisory Committee, Healthcare Provider Council, among other positions. Ohayon is a member of and the Membership Chair  for the International Organization of MS Nurses.  Ohayon has given numerous educational presentations to both community and professional audiences as well as co-authored many publications and presented abstracts at national and international meetings.  Ohayon is committed to helping people with MS, their families and communities have a better understanding of the disease.  Through research and education, she hopes to improve overall quality of life for people living with MS and other neuroimmunological diseases.
