Tuesday, July 11, 2023 | 10:00 - 11:00 AM

The NINDS Office of Research Training and Career Development will offer a 2 – part, 1 hour workshop aimed to help you prepare your resume, CV and linked in profile.

All Trainees and summer students are encouraged to attend—even if you are unsure of your career goals, it can be a great learning experience to prepare yourself for what’s to come.

If you would like to attend this workshop to enhance your own personal job search or schedule an individual coaching session, please register using the links below. I have also attached two workbooks you could look at beforehand. You do not need to fill out everything in the workbooks (if you don’t have time), but these might be helpful to look at if you can, mostly to help with diving into details during the seminars.

Navigating Your Career Choices and Highlighting Skills in your resumes/CV and LinkedIn profile

July 11th  Building 35, room 610 from 10:00 to 11:00am

Led by Lauren Celano, co-founder, and CEO of Propel Careers

Part 1: Navigating career choices and an overview for how to highlight your experiences in a resume, CV, cover letter, and Linkedin

This seminar provides tips and advice in order to structure an effective career exploration process and will provide advice for how to know what to highlight as you develop materials such as a resume, CV, cover letter and LinkedIn profile tailored to your interests. We will focus on important questions to ask in order to identify “drivers” that can influence career choices.  Once identified, we will provide examples for how to highlight these drivers as you develop different materials. We will cover a range of career paths outside of traditional academic PI and industry research roles in order to increase awareness of the numerous career paths available and what skills are needed for different roles.   In both seminars, time will be available for Q&A since these topics often spark many questions
