Dr. Justin Kwan joined NINDS in 2020 as the Director of the Neurodegeneration Disorders Clinic in the OCD.  His focus will be clinical research studies in ALS and FTD patients.  He will also be a member of the core faculty for the Clinical Neurophysiology fellowship.  Prior to joining NINDS, Dr. Kwan was an Associate Professor of Neurology at Temple University, Lewis Katz School of Medicine, and the Co-Director of the MDA/ALS Center of Hope at Temple University Hospital.  He was the Principal Investigator at Temple for several clinical trials in ALS, inflammatory myopathy, and autoimmune neuropathy.  Dr. Kwan was previously the Clinic Director for the ALS Clinic at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, and University of Maryland in Baltimore.  He completed in his Neurology residency at Baylor College of Medicine and he was a research fellow mentored by Dr. Mary Kay Floeter in the Motor Neuron Disorders Unit at the NIH.  He is board certified in Neurology, Neuromuscular Medicine, Electrodiagnostic Medicine, and Clinical Neuromuscular Pathology.
