Dr. Giacomo Fiorin received a MS in physics from the University of Padua and a PhD in biophysics from the International School for Advanced Studies in Trieste, Italy.  In 2007, he moved to the US to carry out postdoctoral research at the University of Pennsylvania and later Temple University with Dr. Michael Klein.  In 2011 he became a research-track faculty member at Temple, where he executed and supervised research projects, and taught undergraduate and graduate courses for basic-sciences and medical programs.  In 2020 he became a Staff Scientist at NINDS, associated with the labs of Dr. Forrest and Dr. Faraldo-Gómez (NHLBI).  His research interests focus on the molecular biophysics of cell membranes studied by computational methods, using high-performance software and hardware that he also develops or maintains to support the two labs' research programs.
