Dear NINDS fellows and students

Our May "Skill Bites" session is all about an essential career planning tool: Informational Interviewing!

Come and learn about how to use informational interviews to your benefit, to explore various careers and as networking opportunities.  Many times, online resources are not enough and first-hand information from someone on your desired career path would be extremely helpful.

Led by Dr. Yvette Pittman, this session sponsored by the Office of Research Training and Career Development will be offered virtually through Zoom on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm.

This lunchtime session will start with a few slides to prime our conversation while sharing tips and resources related to the topic—to learn more about the benefits of informational interviewing, from identifying people to interview to the follow-up email after you conduct the interview. More importantly, we will go through the entire process together including how to send email invitations and possible questions to ask during an informational interview.  The session will also provide you with strategies on how to have an authentic connection with someone who can offer you insights into the career path that may interest you
